Telling Namibia’s conservation story for World Wildlife Fund

Last fall Jenny Nichols and I had the opportunity to spend a month in Namibia working with World Wildlife Fund to tell an unprecedented story of wildlife recovery. A nascent nation, Namibia has stepped forward as leaders in conservation by literally writing it into its constitution, ensuring that the benefits of protecting the country’s wildlife go directly to the people. It’s truly democratic conservation and it’s already had a phenomenal impact. Shooting this series was a pretty unforgettable experience – surrounded not only by incredible wildlife but also a group of people for whom conservation is at the core of who they are and the land they belong to. Check out the first video in the series to learn more. The series was shot on the Red Epic and the amazing graphics are thanks to Jeremy Collins.

This piece was selected for 2014 Mountainfilm in Telluride, CO, this upcoming May.
