Maser Films is directing the film component of the new Wyoming Tourism ‘That’s WY’ ad campaign for 2016 and 2017. The films have a polished documentary style that emphasizes local characters and the epic Wyoming landscape.
The ‘That’s WY’ campaign typifies the Maser Films style of filmmaking—unscripted, high production value projects executed with a small team in real world settings. The production team typically comprises two or three people and is supported by creative directors and producers from the ad agency BVK.
Each story is told in a two-three minute short film, with :30 and :15 cutdowns for use as internet video pre-roll and other web advertising.
The films are captured using the RED Epic Dragon and Epic W cameras in resolutions ranging from 4K to 8K. Aerials are shot using the DJI Inspire 1 Pro RAW camera, piloted by Andy Maser, who is FAA drone certified. These tools perfectly suit the style of the production—high production value captured by a small team in a largely run-and-gun style.
Post production happens in Portland, OR, where the editorial, sound and color finishing happens natively in RED R3D raw format for 4K-ready output.
