Frank Diaz spent 34 years in the U.S. Army before retiring and doing what a lot of people talk about and few actually do: he started a business. Tin Hut BBQ began as a single food truck serving mainland-style smoked barbecue to military personnel at Schofield Barracks and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Oahu. It has since grown into a fleet.

What Frank built isn't just a food truck operation. He employs veterans, many of them disabled, some of them homeless when he finds them, and gives them a professional path back into civilian life. The military is his customer base and his community. His slogan is "Serving America's Finest," and he means it in both directions.

For Facebook's small business campaign, we spent two days on Oahu with Frank making a film about what happens when the discipline and loyalty of a military career gets poured into something you build with your own hands.

The film was produced in a three-minute version and a sixty-second cut. Both are above.
